Fitting it all in – some August reading suggestions

August is typically a long, languorous month, full of last hurrahs before school is back in session and lazy days by the pool or on the beach, soaking up as much sun and relaxation as we can before the world switches back into high gear in September.  It’s a month for family, friends, and good books, and we’ve always got you covered on the latter.

For a light, fun read in the sun, why not dive into a story of transatlantic friendship with The Twitter Diaries?  Or if you’re lamenting the end of summer adventures, live vicariously through two young boys in an underwater quest with The Pirates in the Deep Green Sea, written by this month’s featured author, Eric Linklater!  For something a little more nostalgic, follow Dirk Bogarde back to his childhood with Great Meadow, or to soothe the itch to travel, why not visit The Sugar Islands with Alec Waugh?  The world is your literary oyster!
